Snap Happy, another test shoot!

Im sad that the Winter is forever drawing closer :( I'm very much a summer gal!

This was a fashion shoot I did over the summer with the help of my best friend Purdey. My auntie and uncle at the time were staying in a Caravan park in St.davids so we all ventured up for the day and did the shoot, We were so lucky with the weather and playing around with a lot of different looks meant that we got a lot of good images.
Another practice under my belt, the inspiration for this shoot was from Of Love and Lemons - American dream, I wanted to recreate this and put my own spin on it (a welsh spin) :D

Here are the results…

There is always room to improve and I think looking back the styling needed to be sharper, tidying up the edges on some of her outfits. But it was a lot of fun and the people staying on the site enjoyed seeing what on earth we were doing, so all in all a good day :P haha!

OOTD

Yesterdays outfit of the day.

Ive decided I need a personal "life" photographer to get better pictures of the outfits I wear.
I love this outfit having recently purchasing these mama jeans, which I now live in! I also love to incorporate vintage into what I wear as much as possible, the jewellery and the oversized red cardigan were found from me having a good rummage through boxes in the attic and my mums old jewellery box, some good finds I say :D

Jewellery - new/vintage
Hat - Urban Outfitters £24
Top - H&M £8
Oversized Cardigan - Vintage
Mama Jeans - Topshop £40 (student discount got me them for £36) :D
DM's - Doc Martens £90
Lipstick - Clinique (free from my housemate) hehe

I also love to cheat with vintage sometime, my docs are only a year old but give a vintage look, bringing back the punk, rock and mod years (and of course 80's/90's grunge, paired with mama jeans). Especially because mine are so worn now as I wear them everywhere, everyday almost. But to be honest, you can't really go wrong with docs!

GOLD SHORTS

Getting back into this blogging lark.
Im a bit rusty.

This was one of the photo shoots I did over the summer and our brief was movement. So we thought we would have a play around with lighting and different garments to see how it went. From the help of my lovely friends/ hair stylist /photography students I did my first studio shoot.

Here are some of my favourite edited pictures from the morning...

Granted my editing needs a bit of work, but I guess I have to start somewhere :D

Behind the scenes...

I really enjoyed working in the studio with Otto showing me the ropes, defiantly still a lot to learn about setting up lighting and the camera, its a lot harder than it looks.

Oxford Trip

Gosh I need to get back into the swing of blogging.

Anyway, back in uni for my second year of fashion promotion now!! How quick that summer has gone :(
Last week we went to Oxford. I must say, Oxford is a lot more laid back that I thought it would be. I don't know what I was expecting to be honest, as if everyone would be walking round in top hats or something. Very Posh! What I noticed is that there is a very certain style there which I was sure wouldn't be as obvious. Its very much a Jack wills, Tommy Hilfiger "upper class, chilled living" vibe, a lot of shirts, polos and sweaters. Which I must say I love! AND all the guys are very well looked after, which is never a bad thing!
We also had a mini brief that we had to complete for the week after, which was looking at repetition. I had a few ideas, I looked at Gates, Signs, bikes and the texture of the different floors we walked on. There were SO many bikes there, as many bikes as cars in fact!!

I loved everything about Oxford, the fact that it is very much a student city, with quaint shops and café, cobbled roads and windy back streets, its so pretty in the Autumn!

Go out for a walk, come back with inspiration and a dead camera battery!

Hey Guys,
I said I would try post everyday but LIFE always gets in the way.
Its been nice catching up with everyone back in Pembs.

SO today was really sunny, i decided to go for a walk to clear my head and find some possible locations for my photo shoot when I have finished creating my brand.
I ventured out in my red aztec leggings, docs (which I live in) and big green parker (which I also live in). I walked down to Doc Yard and around to the stoney beach not far from my house and got some really good Graffiti pictures and some much needed inspiration to get me back on track with my work.

University sure is stressful. But I love it because I'm doing Fashion. Who wouldn't love that. :)

My brand is based on a simple idea, rural meets urban. These last two pictures are two perfect places where I can place my models.

Spring blues :(

Hey guys, well isn't the weather great! Not.
Its spring the weather is supposed to be improving, but the snow in some parts of the UK is ridiculous.

So as a sort of S/S cheer-up attempt I thought I would show you a few of my favourite bits and bobs at the moment.
The sunglasses are from Topshop last season at £16.00, the one day we had sun a few weeks ago I got them out (even though it was still bitterly cold)
My Wreck this journal is from Urban Outfitters at £8.00, I had it as a christmas present and cant wait to get my teeth into being creative over the summer! I shall be posting at later dates completed pages for you to take a peep at.
This months VOGUE, the first one i have a chance to read in a while. Even though there are a tone of adverts I still love it and always will. Its so chic :P

Some things that caught my eye.

Interesting typography and simple advertising does the trick :) Normally I just tend to look at the pictures and wish I had everything in them. Simple simple simple is my fav.

When I went to New York I had the chance to go to Bloomingdale's. It was amazing and I couldn't leave without buying something from the 'Little Brown' range. So I treated myself to a make up bag.
This was $12.00 :)

MAC!!!
Another purchase from New York was this Mac lipstick, I absolutely loved the guy that served me he was very bubbly and suggested I try this purple colour. It goes with my skin colour perfectly and as I have quite full lips makes a statement without going over board.
This was $16.00 so a little cheaper over in the U.S
